Resilient Kids, Calmer Families, Joyful Classrooms

Hello Families, Colleagues and Friends,

In this time of uncertainty, self-care is not selfish. It is how we recharge and find clarity. When we nourish our own hearts we are better able to care for each other, build inclusive communities and protect our planet. Mindfulness-based practices offer us ease, self-compassion and perspective, especially when explored within the context of connecting with others. During these days of covid, I have continued to provide mindfulness programs to support teachers, parents, kids and school communities.

It has felt especially crucial to support you, the teachers and parents who have been juggling so much. My weekly meditation groups, Nighttime Meditation for Teachers and Nighttime Meditation for Parents, will resume in the fall. Online mentoring sessions for kids and parents are continuing and I anticipate a few openings by early October. I continue to provide online and in-person consultation to schools . Upcoming

This summer, my offerings are OPEN TO ALL and are not restricted to teachers and parents.

For those of you who have young children at home, or who teach young children, my predictable reader and coloring book, We Wear Masks, is freely available below. My hope is that it helps normalize the wearing of masks for our young children, and that it brings a sense of play and ease to something that is sometimes challenging.

For an overview of my current offerings, please see Services.

With warm wishes,
Liz Slade.

We Wear Masks

A Children’s Reader and Coloring Book
by Liz Slade

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” - Aesop

Wearing masks is an act of kindness: towards others and towards ourselves. How can we normalize this for our children and bring in heart, gentleness, imagination and play? My hope is that this printable early reader and coloring book is a reassuring and playful support for adjusting to the wearing of masks.

Please follow the links below to download the We Wear Masks packet (pdf). This packet includes an explanatory letter, the full size booklet, the half-size student version, and a set of worksheets.
